This website is the scratchpad for an academic exercise aimed at answering this question:

What all has gone wrong since the US Constitution was ratified in 1788, and how might it help to address those things differently in a new and improved constitution?

I am beginning this side project on 22 January, 2017.  It will evolve over time, and should be understood to be a work in progress.  I have posted this work for my own convenience, and for the convenience of discussing it with friends.  This site is not advertised or promoted, and if you have found your way here, you are free to peruse it, and even to contact me if you have something you’d like to say (about this site or its theme).

Understand that I have generally not sought to explain myself much here, as this site is, at this time, for me, and not for a general audience.  I am working under the assumption that this site’s primary audience (which is me), will have the prerequisite knowledge for understanding its content.

I doubt very much that this new constitution–should I ever complete it–will be adopted during my lifetime.  This is because the citizens of the United States do not seem to be clamoring for new ways to improve the Rule of Law on their watch.  I am resigned, therefore, that this will likely remain a mere oddity–a piece for academic discussion–for quite some time.

Generally speaking, it is my intent to create topical pages for this site at first, listing haphazardly my various thoughts on what needs to be developed.  This will happen in no particular order.
